Does the ETSi4334
need to be used in a shielded environment?
The ETSi4334 does not require a screened room. It is used within a laboratory /
office environment on a bench or table. The highly accurate and directional
probe is capable of detecting noise from the scan area only. It does not suffer
from any ambient pickup at all.
Can the ETSi4334
pick up emissions through components and groundplanes?
Yes, the probe is sensitive to the magnetic component of the emissions which
are only absorbed by ferrous metals.
Can the ETSi4334 be
synchronised to the pulsed emissions of my system?
Yes, the opto-isolated input on the Auxilliary connector can be used for a
trigger signal. To enable this feature select 'Settings'|'XY-Plot Settings'
from the main menu and then select the 'wait for trigger' option.
How does the
ETSi4334 scan the component layout of the PCB?
The component and track layouts from a board can be imported from Gerber plots.
You can experiment with this procedure using our demo software. From the 'File'
menu select 'Import Gerber'.
Will ambient
radiation effect the results?
The highly accurate and directional probe is capable of detecting noise from
the scan area only. It does not suffer from any ambient pickup at all.
What is the
noise-floor level of the ETSi4334?
The ETSi4334 scanner requires an RF receiver or spectrum analyser and a PC to
form a working system. The noise floor level is that of the RF receiver /
spectrum analyser used.
