The
X-Y Plot is used to scan and map, with the aid of the main probe, the radiated
emissions from the EUT. The plot is carried out at a selected single
frequency.
The
results are presented as a colour coded map which can clearly identify the
emissions from individual components and tracks.
X-Y Plots can be saved as
references which enable comparisons to be carried out throughout the frequency
range before and after the application of remedial measures and
modifications. The saved reference can also be used as part of an auto
test for production audit or quality control.
The 10 mm plot
resolution is an extremely fast method of obtaining a plot. It is
designed to provide a quick overview of emissions. It is also the
recommended resolution for comparative and production audit tests where a
pass/fail answer is sufficient. Typical test times for 100 x 100 mm board
is 1.5 minutes.
The 5 mm plot
offers four times the resolution of the 10 mm plot. This plot resolution
is suitable for comparative and production audit testing. Due to the
higher resolution it is the preferred option for initial investigations in
development work. Typical test time for 100 x 100 mm board is 2.4
minutes.
The 2 mm plot
resolution provides a high resolution plot capable of identifying emission and
immunity traces from individual components and tracks. This plot
resolution is ideal for development and problem solving applications.
The 1 mm resolution
provides a high resolution plot capable of pinpointing emissions and immunity
traces to individual pins and tracks. It is a relatively slow plot
ideally suited for the final stages of problem solving.
A zoom plot carries
out a 1mm or 0.5 mm plot on selected areas of a plot previously carried out
with any of the lower resolutions. Once a scan has been completed the
test area is selected by clicking and dragging the right mouse button to the
desired area.
In addition to the plots shown
above, the results can be viewed as a 3 dimensional image. The user can zoom,
rotate and move the image to get the best picture of the emission
pattern.
XY-Plots can be
saved as references which enable comparisons to be carried out before and after
the application of remedial measures and modifications. Plots can also be
included in automatic tests for Production Audit.
