Frequency Scans to find problem frequencies on PCBs

A frequency scan enables the identification of all the significant frequencies that are generated by the EUT. The input device for these scans can be Board Loop, Main Probe, Hand Probe or any of the Cable Clamps. To carry out a frequency scan the start and stop frequencies need to be selected together with the preferred input device. Normally the Loop Probe is used to obtain the emissions coming from the EUT by placing the Loop to cover the EUT. For cables a frequency scan can be obtained by clamping the appropriate cable through one of the cable clamps.

Frequency scans can be saved as references which enable comparisons to be carried out throughout the frequency range before and after the application of remedial measures and modifications. Frequency scans can also be included in automatic tests for Production Audit.
